and my ancestors’

all the way back to eve

of joy instead of mourning

along w/ new mercies

every morning

for such a time as this

a Levitical drip

from

a Biblical trip

of triumph & tribulation

oil

that confuses darkness

oil

that confirms grace

oil

that trades beauty for ashy-ness

oil

that was pressed

then blessed
